ABOUT THE ARTIST

Eddie Colla is an Oakland-based artist whose satirical and subversive epigrams express an irreverent dark humor through artwork that has been featured in public spaces and art shows across the country. Educated at the California College of the Arts, he began his artistic career as a commercial photographer who morphed over 15 years into one who counters the all-pervasive nature of commercialism in public spaces. Of his work Colla states, “I want to elicit a response. I want to draw attention to certain things, or certain issues, or certain or topics. When I put up work on the street, I’m just trying to change the conversation a little bit.” So far this year his work has been featured alongside Hush, Chor Boogie, and Damon Soule in the Indoor Mural show in San Francisco and in Sniffin’ Glue at the New Puppy gallery in LA.
